Canine Normal Values:

Feline Normal Values:
>1.035
Significance:
Used in the assessment of hydration status and the concentrating abilities of the kidneys
Increases in Values:
May indicate dehydration or acute kidney injury, though higher values may also be normal as well
Decreases in Values:
Decreased values may be seen with kidney disease, hyperadrenocorticism, hypercalcemia, liver disease, pyelonephritis, diabetes, pyometra, hyperthyroidism, polydipsia, diuretics, and IVF therapy
