Monitoring CO2 Levels

Inspiratory CO2 Levels are preferably 0 mmHg. During anesthesia, if inspiratory CO2 levels are increased, check to see if the soda limb needs to be replaced and decrease any dead space if able
Expiratory CO2 Levels are preferably 30 to 40 mmHg. A patient may be hyperventilating when the expiratory CO2 levels are less than 30 to 40 mmHg and the patient may be hypoventilating when the expiratory CO2 levels are greater than 50 mmHg
Expiratory CO2 Levels are preferably 30 to 40 mmHg. A patient may be hyperventilating when the expiratory CO2 levels are less than 30 to 40 mmHg and the patient may be hypoventilating when the expiratory CO2 levels are greater than 50 mmHg
